Request a resident permit refund

A standard resident permit may be surrendered for a pro-rata refund on any whole unexpired months. This is calculated from the date that we receive the request with the surrendered permit. Refunds may take up to 14 working days to process.

Note that the following are non-refundable:

• Temporary one month resident permit
• The surcharge for postal/in person applications
• Amounts less than £1

A £10.70 administrative fee will be charged.

Permits should be returned with a completed refund request form.

Refunds are processed by BACS direct to a nominated bank account. Cash or cheque refunds cannot be given.
