Success story - Andrew
Picture of Andrew - Quest employment success story.
Andrew from Battersea came to Quest initially looking to continue with a motor mechanics course that he had started some years earlier. After some research and follow up with his Apprenticeship provider, this proved not feasible. So he worked with his Quest Adviser to examine other opportunities and Andrew undertook a couple of customer service related jobs. These were not right for him, so after a while he decided to get into painting and decorating.
I attended a CSCS course that Quest put on at the ROSE Centre. I needed some extra time to prepare for the test, so I practised using one of the Quest machines and also at home.
When I got through the test and got my CSCS card, my advisor arranged for two weeks' work experience on site at Battersea Power Station, and then three weeks at a Painting and Decorating training centre. After all of this, I gained loads of confidence and had made some new contacts in the industry.
I was really happy when after the three weeks training I was taken on by Epolle Construction as an Apprentice Painter and Decorator. I'm working hard and learning new skills - just what I wanted!
Quest gave me loads of help all the way through; from the training, to getting ready for work experience and interview preparation. It was good that they knew my advisor at the Jobcentre so could help me sort things out.
If you need help to get a job, I really recommend Quest. They have helped me so much!
