Ways to pay your Council Tax

By telephone, post or at a Post Office or PayPoint location

By telephone

  • Make payment: 0800 021 7763 (freephone)
  • Set up Direct Debit: 020 8871 8081 (lines open 24 hours).

You need your:

  • debit/credit details
  • Council Tax account reference

There is a surcharge of 1.4% if you pay by credit card. There is no charge for debit cards.

The call should last about two minutes. You will need to have a touch tone telephone.

By post

Cheques and postal orders should be made payable to 'Wandsworth Council'.

On the back of your cheque or postal order, include your:

  • name
  • address
  • Council Tax account reference

You can ask for a receipt when paying by cheque.

At a Post Office or PayPoint location

PayPoint

You can pay by cash at any PayPoint outlet in the country.

Post Office

You can pay by debit card, cash or cheque at any Post Office.

The maximum amount the Post Office will accept for any single cheque is £1000. If you want to pay more than £1000, you need to use more than one cheque.
