Satellite sites for the Winstanley and York Road regeneration project

In order to enable existing residents to move directly into their new home the redevelopment of the estate will be phased, with sufficient new homes built before existing homes are vacated by residents.

However, residents whose homes are due to be demolished in the very first phase of the scheme would need to move to newly built homes outside the regeneration area. We expect to know which block or blocks this will be as part of the phasing plan in early summer 2017.

It is expected that the first residents will be able to move to these satellite sites from late 2018 / early 2019. On moving to the new build properties residents will receive full compensation, as detailed in the secure council tenant offer. Residents will have the option to return to a new home in the regeneration area at a later date if they wish - approximately 3-4 years into the regeneration project. Removal costs will be met on both occasions, but full compensation will be paid only once. 

We have identified five potential 'satellite sites'. New homes on these sites will be of the same quality and size standards as those in the regeneration zone and also based within the Battersea/Clapham Junction area. The sites are:

  • Gideon Road
  • Lavender Hill
  • Tyneham Close
  • Battersea High Street (replacing the previously advertised Hope Street site)
  • Rowditch Lane
