Webb's Road waiting restrictions consultation

Proposals

Following a road traffic accident, we are proposing to implement waiting restrictions to improve safety in Webb's Road.

At present, vehicles regularly park on the yellow line and occasionally on the double bend opposite the junction of Chatham Road to access the shops. This narrows the road and restricts visibility which causes difficulty for passing traffic, particularly emergency services.

We are proposing to provide double yellow line waiting and loading/unloading restrictions outside 65-71 Webb’s Road.  A section of the existing single yellow line waiting restriction would remain, allowing loading/unloading by traders/residents/visitors outside the shops for a short period. It would be illegal to load/unload on the double yellow lines.

We are also proposing to provide a warning sign in Webb’s Road in the southbound approach to this location which should highlight the presence of the bend to approaching traffic and help to improve safety.
