Voluntary Sector Development
The Voluntary Sector Development (WVSDA) receives funding from the Economic Development Office, Bridge House Trust and the Community Fund to provide information, advice and training on voluntary and community sector issues in Wandsworth.

Staff in the Voluntary Sector Development team can assist your organisation to develop the necessary capacity to grow and thrive.

We offer:

SOLVS Project: WVSDA's Small Groups and Outreach projects have combined to become the SOLVS (Support and Outreach for the Local Voluntary Sector) Project.  SOLVS is now able to offer extra support to voluntary and community organisations in Wandsworth to help solve any problem your group may have, at a time and location that suits you.  Some of the services SOLVS provides are:

• Tailor-made sessions to boost your Management Committee's confidence and motivation.
• Facilitated sessions to help you develop your Business or Strategic Plans.
• Help to apply for funding.
• Outreach support over a period of time.
• Tailor-made and accredited training to meet your needs.

Community Accountancy: Financial Assistance and advice for budgeting, cash-flow, financial funding applications, setting up financial procedures and maintaining financial records.

ICT Support Project: We can help you understand the jargon, health check your computer equipment and make recommendations about your use, training and IT needs. Support you to make use of Charity discounts and signpost IT suppliers.

The Community Library at 170 Garratt Lane is open Tuesdays 10am-1pm, Thursdays 2-4pm and at other times by appointment.

Additionally we can make referrals to other agencies to receive specialist legal advice in matters of concern to the non-profit voluntary sector. Come and search through WVSDA database of publication available from the community library.

WVSDA in the libraries
Every library in Wandsworth has information and resources for voluntary and community groups.

At every library you will find free access to a WVSDA computer with internet and desktop publishing software.

Search the online catalogue at your local library for titles of interest to the voluntary sector. e.g.

• Directory of Grant Making Trusts online at all Wandsworth libraries. (Ask a staff member to log you in.)
• Funderfinder is available at West Hill library (SW18) and at our premises.

Helping the Voluntary Sector

• We have a database of voluntary organisations and community groups in Wandsworth. Search the database by clicking on our Local Organisations page
• We produce a quarterly newsletter with the latest information and news for the voluntary sector in Wandsworth.
• We provide telephone information and advice. Call on 020 8875 2846
• We have a voluntary sector resource library which can be used by appointment
• We have a training room which can be hired for voluntary sector events and meetings
• We assist in developing partnerships and networks
