Tooting Together

What is Tooting Together?

Tooting Together is a campaign that unites local people, the council, the Tooting Town Centre Partnership, local businesses and other groups.

The campaign launched in 2008, and is making Tooting a cleaner, safer place to live and visit.

Surveys have shown that people like living in Tooting. They like the fact that it's friendly and lively, with good transport links and plenty of shops, restaurants and bars.

But they also say they want cleaner streets, better shops, less street clutter, more trees planted in residential areas and more police on the streets.

To help deliver these improvements, part of Tooting Together is a detailed plan that aims to significantly improve the area's environment, make its shopping facilities more attractive and its streets safer.

Regeneration, crime-reduction, environmental improvements and help for local businesses are already key priorities for the council, as set out in Our Wandsworth 2018 - a long-term blueprint for the borough.

To find out more about the survey results and see the full plan, see the  Future of Tooting town centre item from the Corporate Resources Overview and Scrutiny Committee meeting on October 8 2008.
