West Putney ward by-election

A by-election is taking place in West Putney ward today, 2 May 2024. Polls will be open until 10pm.

The by-election follows the resignation of Councillor Claire Gilbert and takes place at the same time as the Mayor of London and London Assembly elections.

Ways to vote

You can choose whether to vote in person, by post or by proxy.

In person

To vote in person, you will need to attend your polling station between the hours of 7am and 10pm on polling day, 2 May 2024.

You will be required to present an accepted form of photo ID in order to be issued with a ballot paper. Read more about the requirement to bring photo ID

If you do not have an accepted form of photo ID you can apply for a Voter Authority Certificate until 5pm on Wednesday 24 April 2024.

By post

The deadline to register to vote by post in these elections was Wednesday 17 April 2024, at 5pm.

We must receive your completed postal vote pack by 10pm on polling day. Please ensure you post your postal vote in sufficient time to be delivered by Royal Mail.
