Battersea estates get festive!

Published: Wednesday 13th December 17

Christmas came to the Winstanley and York Road estates on Tuesday (12 December) with a seasonal celebration of carols, music, and mince pies.

Carols and seasonal music in York Gardens Library and Community Centre

Around 120 people from the Winstanley, York Road, and Kambala estates and the local area attended performances at York Gardens Library and Community Centre by music charity World Heart Beat; Thames Christian College; and Falconbrook Primary School pupils.

Seasonal treats from local social enterprise Platform One Café and national charity the Camden Society.

The event was organised by the regeneration team, which is undertaking a major redevelopment of the Winstanley and York Road estates, guaranteeing all tenants and owner-occupiers a newly-built home on their estate along with new community facilities, a new leisure centre and park, a new library, new shops and business space, and employment and training initiatives.
