Free advice day this Thursday

The annual Community Advice Day, which offers Wandsworth residents a chance to get free help and advice from more than 50 local organisations and council services, is on Thursday (November 1).

A programme of talks throughout the day includes the police's Special Crime Directorate on identity fraud, Job Centre Plus on advice for lone parents, updates on housing benefits changes, latest news from the Department of Works and Pensions, a talk from South Thames College on courses and how to enrol and information on financial assessments on social care costs.  

There will also be stalls giving tips and information on issues including  

  • Benefits
  • Pensions
  • Council Tax
  • Rent
  • Housing
  • Money management
  • Home safety
  • Keeping healthy
  • Getting into work

Staff from the council, local health services and other organisations will be on hand to give expert one-to-one advice. 

The day is completely free and refreshments will be available. The event is being held in the Civic Suite, Wandsworth High Street. Drop in any time from 10.30am to 2.30pm.
