|Description||Balham Gateway is a social club on Mondays for adults with learning disabilities living in Wandsworth. It is affiliated with Mencap and meets every Monday evening during term-time from 7:30pm - 9:00pm at Trinity St Mary's School hall, near Balham tube station. |
The group is completely volunteer-run and aims to offer a fun, relaxed, safe environment for members to come and socialise with friends, learn new skills and experience new opportunities. As well as regular activities, the group has yearly trips to the pantomime and to the seaside in summer. Activities include:
- Arts and crafts
- Games and bingo
- A 'cuppa' and a chat
- Whatever you want to do, the club will try and organise it
Some people arrange their own transport to and from club. But if this is difficult for you, contact the club. They may be able to provide a taxi service, particularly for those who live near or on the same route as other members. Please bring a carer if you need one-to-one support while at the club.

|Costs||Members pay £2 for each club night. |
There are additional costs for external activities, such as summer seaside days outs and trips to the pantomime - usually about £10 to £15. This covers some of the costs and the club covers the rest. Carers accompanying members do not need to pay.
