Financial Inclusion Team

DescriptionThe council's Financial Inclusion Team makes sure tenants have access to the appropriate financial services, products and advice, as well as having the skills, knowledge and confidence to deal with money effectively.

The team works with tenants in the borough who are experiencing difficulty with paying their rent by providing them with information and advice. This includes:

- Reviewing their income and expenditure to help them minimise their expenditure so that they can focus on their priority bills
- Helping to maximise their income to make sure tenants receive all the benefits they are entitled to
- Highlighting areas of overspending e.g. credit card, mobile phone tariffs
- Debt advice
