Crisis Loans

DescriptionSince 1 April 2013 Crisis Loans have no longer been available from the government's Social Fund, but there is an alternative from the council. In Wandsworth, the council runs a local scheme that broadly replaces this provision called the Wandsworth Discretionary Social Fund. Visit the Wandsworth Council website link below to find out more.

To apply through the new Wandsworth Discretionary Social Fund visit the website and complete an application online. You can also do this at any council office that has public internet access. If you cannot access the website, applications can also be made by telephone. Please note that this is not an advice telephone line.

A Crisis Loan was an interest-free loan to help with essential costs after an emergency or disaster, such as a flood or fire in your home. Information about the old Crisis Loan scheme is available on the GOV.UK website: https://www.gov.uk/crisis-loans/
