|Description||Independence at Home is a charity that provides grants to people of all ages who have physical disability, learning disability or long term illness and are in financial need. |
The grants improve independence and quality of life for many people, not only the individual beneficiaries but also those family members and carers who are involved in the everyday challenges of coping with illness and disability at home.
This financial help enables them to obtain mobility and disability equipment, home adaptations and other essential items to make an immediate, practical and positive effect on daily life at home.
The mobility and disability equipment include:
• A powered wheelchair
• A riser-recliner chair
• A wet room
• An electronic scanner to help people with visual impairment to read

Independence at Home’s grants vary between £200 and £600 and depend on the item of equipment purchased or building work carried out. The average grant is £300.
