|Description||Action on Hearing Loss is a national charity providing a range of support for people with hearing loss and tinnitus. Amongst other things, they offer: |
- Day-to-day care for people who are deaf with additional needs
- Communication services and training
- Practical advice to help people protect their hearing
- Outreach and equipment services
- Access to work support
- A befriending service
Their website has information and resources (including health information) for people who are affected by hearing loss. You can also purchase equipment to help with hearing loss using the Action on Hearing Loss website and download a mobile phone application to check your hearing (not all mobiles are supported).
They also campaign to change public policy around hearing loss issues and support research towards an eventual cure for hearing loss and tinnitus. Action on Hearing Loss was formerly known as the Royal National Institute for Deaf People (RNID).
