DescriptionThe Chinese Information and Advice Centre (CIAC) is a registered charity and social enterprise that provides free information, advice and support to disadvantaged Chinese people living in the UK. The centre has been supporting people across the United Kingdom since 1982 and is based in London Chinatown.

The help offered includes support for women and children who are victims, or at risk, of domestic violence, working with prisoners to help reduce re-offending, and legal advice on issues such as employment, immigration, asylum and homelessness.

CIAC staff can work with service users in English, Mandarin, Cantonese and Vietnamese.

Further informationCIAC is part of a multilingual group called: “Women Together Against Abuse”. It came together with 5 BAMER (Black, Asian, Minority, Ethnic and Refugee) women’s organisations to provide services for those affected by domestic violence, rape, sexual abuse, forced marriage and honour based killing. The project aims to improve access to services, knowledge of rights and promote safe choices, emotional health and well being.
