Shelter provides free and confidential help and advice to people with all kinds of housing problems through their website and face-to-face local services. Their advice covers many topics including these and many more:

Shelter's help and advice covers specialist topics for people in particular situations, including people with disabilities, struggling homeowners, council and housing association tenants, prisoners and ex-offenders.
