Peabody Home Solutions - handyperson and decorating

DescriptionPeabody offers a decorating and handyperson service for Peabody residents aged 65 and over who receive any disability support. They can carry out repairs and adaptations to help people live independently and safely, as well as carrying out painting and decorating, and the service covers all of London.

All of their handyperson staff are checked by the Criminal Records Bureau, and all visits to your home will be confirmed in advance by letter or telephone. The service is available between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Friday. These are some of the types of work they can do:

- Internal and external painting and decorating
- Replacing existing light shades, tubes, bulbs and fuses
- Fitting smoke alarms (battery-operated only)
- Installing doorbells
- Fitting a key safe or fitting/changing locks
- Fitting curtain rails, towel rails, shelves, hanging mirrors and pictures
- Moving and assembling small pieces of furniture
- Gardening/garden clearance and assembling sheds
- Draughtproofing, clearing guttering and waste pipes
- Minor plumbing work (installing washing machines, replacing taps and bleeding radiators)

Further informationThe following types of work are not covered by the service:

- Electrical work (apart from plugs and fuses)
- Gas work
- Fitting or repairing central heating
- Repairing cookers/boilers/TVs/washing machines
