Asian Elders Support Scheme

Address5 Beechcroft Road,
PostcodeSW17 7BU
DescriptionAsian Elders Support Scheme (formerly Solace Community Care Ltd) is a registered charity and company that provides home care, a day centre and lunch club services. They provide services mainly for older people, as well as some for those with learning disabilities or physical disabilities, primarily in Asian communities. The home care service assists clients with day to day tasks and personal care, such as dressing, bathing, washing and general house work and cleaning.

The day centre is a place for older people to visit during the day and meet other people. It aims to help prevent isolation at home and enables clients to take part in recreational activities and generally have a good time. Activities available include:

- Exercise sessions
- Therapy and yoga sessions
- Games
- Outings
- Singing

The centre also has links with local services that frequently provide free dental and optical checks for the centre's clients. Elderly people that do not want to attend the day centre can also drop in to have lunch. Freshly cooked vegetarian meals that are tailored to the dietary needs of Asian people are available. Those who visit the lunch club can also pay for a tiffin to take home and eat as an evening meal if they wish. The lunch club is an opportunity for older people to socialise generally and meet other people who share similar interests.
