DescriptionBalham Resource Centre provides a range of services and support for people with sight loss. The centre, which is run by the Thomas Pocklington Trust, offers the following services:

- Day services
- Talking Newspaper and Magazine
- Low vision aids to try out and a monthly low vision clinic
- A hearing aid clinic
- IT services, including specialist software
- Telephone befriending and a home visiting/reading service
- Holiday support
- Local meetings of the Macular Disease Society
- Help with access to work, employment and career development: including a job club


The centre runs a range of activities, including arts and craft activities, sewing, talking-microwave cookery classes, exercise sessions, Tai Chi, music sessions, volunteering opportunities and an over 50s social group.

If there is something specific you would like to try, the centre is open to suggestions and will try to find someone to run a course or event for you.
