Description | Hear to Help is a service from the charity Action on Hearing Loss that provides support, advice and information to those who wear NHS hearing aids. The service can provide general maintenance of hearing aids, basic repairs, and free batteries (to patients from Queen Mary’s and St George’s hospitals). It also offers a range of information and leaflets provided by Action on Hearing Loss. The service is run by a member of staff from the charity with the help of volunteers, and can help people at home as well as in the community. There are 6 drop in sessions once a month around the borough in these areas: - Wandsworth Town - Wandsworth Common - Battersea and Clapham Junction station area - Southfields - Putney - Furzedown To find more about the drop-ins, or to ask for the service, contact Beverley Leach using the mobile number, by email, or via St George’s hospital or Queen Mary’s hospital audiology department. Anyone can refer to the service. - Be a volunteer Action on Hearing Loss is currently looking for new volunteers for the Hear to Help project in Wandsworth, including people with experience of hearing loss. Contact the service if you would like to find out more about volunteering with the project. |

Eligibility | The service is for anyone who wears an NHS hearing aid and would like advice and support. It is primarily for Wandsworth residents but the service will go into neighbouring boroughs on occasion. |
