District nursing services

DescriptionDistrict nurses are trained nurses, who provide skilled nursing care, support and advice to patients and carers in a community setting. They are sometimes also known as community nurses. GP practices usually have an attached nursing team. They can also provide equipment for patients in their care. If you feel that you are in need of this service, speak to your GP who will, if appropriate, refer you to the local service.
EligibilityTo qualify for local district nursing services you must:

- be a resident within the Borough of Wandsworth
- have identified health needs which are suitable and feasible for care in the community
