DescriptionRP Fighting Blindness is a registered charity that provides information and support services for people with the eye condition retinitis pigmentosa (RP). The charity's main services are its website and publications that provide information, such as a quarterly magazine, and the RP telephone and email helpline services. The charity is a member of the Telephone Helplines Association and it offers:

- Confidential support for people with RP and their families
- A chance to discuss your feelings or concerns anonymously
- A team of volunteers who either have, or have family with, the condition
- A signposting service to information about benefits, education, employment, and more
- Access to LanguageLine for those callers where English is their second language

There is also a network of local groups around the country. Some of these arrange social get-togethers and fundraising events.

EligibilityThe telephone helpline is for people with RP, their relatives and anyone who needs to know more about RP and how to cope with the difficulties it presents.
Opening timesThe helpline is open from 9.30am to 9.30pm, Monday to Friday. An answering service is in place at other times and messages will be responded to as soon as possible. The charity aims to respond to emails within 48 hours.
