Wandsworth Oasis

DescriptionWandsworth Oasis is a small chain of community charity shops raising money for local people living with HIV. The charity gives small grants on an annual basis to charities who work directly with people from Wandsworth who have HIV.

Wandsworth Oasis shops are run by two staff and volunteers who are always keen to welcome new members to the team. The charity provides volunteer opportunities for people looking for a chance to gain work experience or needing support to move back into work or society in general. Their shops aim to offer friendly and supportive environments where everyone is treated with respect and dignity. The training programme is largely 'on the job' and is determined by the type of position volunteers are interested in. For an informal chat about opportunities please contact Gill Carver on 07809 583898.

The charity shops offer an anonymous environment for people to drop-in and pick up information about HIV. Wandsworth Oasis also offers free condoms as part of the educational Freedoms Scheme to raise awareness about HIV transmission.
