DescriptionThe Care Quality Commission (CQC) is the independent regulator of health and social care in England. It makes sure that hospitals, care homes, dental and GP surgeries, and all other care services in England provide people with safe, effective and high-quality care. It also encourages them to make improvements. It carries out this work by setting standards of quality and safety, and monitoring, inspecting and regulating care services.

The CQC inspects services and publishes the results on its website to help you make better decisions about the care you receive. You can also search for care services on the CQC website or call their dedicated helpline.
