Trinity at Home Volunteer Service

AddressTrinity Hospice,
30 Clapham Common North Side,
PostcodeSW4 0RN
DescriptionThis service offers additional support at home from a team of specialist volunteers to those with life-limiting illnesses and their family in the local community. It is provided by Trinity Hospice to complement the specialist care that they already provide. Trinity Hospice is based in Clapham, south west London, and it provides expert and compassionate care for over 2000 patients a year and over 400 people in their own homes every week.

Your Trinity at Home volunteer will visit you in your home to help you with practical things to improve your wellbeing. They will also be someone you can speak to on a regular basis. The time given by volunteers can also offer a break for unpaid carers. Examples of the practical support a volunteer can help with:

- Shopping for essentials
- Socialising or chatting
- Light gardening
- Reading
- Dog walking
- Accompanying you on foot or public transport
- Playing board or card games

One-off visits to help you attend appointments, or other activities to improve your wellbeing, may be arranged in discussion with the volunteer co-ordinator. All volunteers are checked, trained and supervised by the volunteer co-ordinator from Trinity Hospice. They also work closely with nurses to ensure you enjoy the volunteer visits and everything is going well for both of you.
