DescriptionThe Handyperson Service offers practical help with minor repairs, DIY-style tasks and other tasks around the home and in the garden. It aims to ensure that customers remain safe and secure within their homes. The service supplies and fits keysafes free of charge for people referred to the handyperson service by a health or social care professional. The service can carry out tasks that help to prevent falls, such as:

- Repairs to torn or worn flooring
- Any task that involves climbing on a chair or ladder, such as taking down or hanging curtains.

- Fitting grab-rails and banisters
- Changing light bulbs, fuses and plugs
- Putting up shelves
- Fitting or replacing locks
- Fitting draught excluders
- Unblocking sinks
- Changing tap washers
- Moving furniture (usually a two-person job)
- Replacing toilet seats
- Renewing bath and shower sealant
- Relocating and/or fixing trailing flexes
- Installing or relocating fixed wall cupboards
- Fitting door chains, spy-holes,doorbells and window locks
- Light gardening work, such as mowing the lawn or weeding
- Window cleaning.

EligibilityThe service is open to anyone aged 60 or over living in the London Borough of Wandsworth, whether they are a homeowner, a private or public tenant.
Opening timesThe office is open Monday to Thursday, 10am - 4pm
