Safeguarding adults from abuse

Safeguarding adults from abuse

Safeguarding adults from abuse is a priority for the council. If you are being abused, or if you are concerned that someone else is being abused, please call 020 8871 7707 or email accessteam@wandsworth.gov.uk to report it.

Call 999 if someone is in danger and urgent help is needed.

Safeguarding is the name for how the council and its partners help protect people from abuse and harm. Some adults might be vulnerable to abuse because of a disability, such as a physical disability or a learning disability, a mental illness, or because they are older. There are different types of abuse, not only physical abuse. Abuse could also be financial, psychological, sexual, domestic, modern slavery, or neglect. Here you will find services that support people who have been abused, and details for who to contact if you suspect abuse. Find out more about safeguarding adults in Wandsworth or read the 'stop adult abuse' factsheet.

Wandsworth has a Safeguarding Adults Partnership Board which oversees and steers the course of safeguarding arrangements in Wandsworth.
