Councillor Mrs Sarah McDermott, Cabinet Member for Education and Children's Services says…

Councillor Mrs Sarah McDermott, Cabinet Member for Education and Children's Services
Following national policy in recent years, all but two secondary schools in the borough have become academies and are independent from the local authority. However, most academies continue to engage with the council's link inspector programme (which is not typical of academies nationally). This indicator suggests that schools not under local authority scrutiny are also well supported by their respective trusts or sponsors, and that Wandsworth secondary schools offer an aspirational standard of education across the board.
