Have your say on Chivalry Road playground improvement plan
Published: Wednesday 6th February 19
A public consultation starts next week to find out what improvements local people would like to see at a playground on Wandsworth Common.
The playground as it is now
The council’s open spaces contractor Enable Leisure and Culture is asking for people’s views on the best way to spend £165,000 earmarked for an upgrade of the Chivalry Road playground.
Staff from Enable are holding two drop-in sessions where people can ask questions and find out more about the plans. Go along to Ark Bolingbroke Academy, Wakehurst Road, SW11 6BF during the following times
• Wednesday, February 13 – 5.30pm to 7.30pm
• Saturday, March 2 – 12noon to 3pm
This is the second stage of the consultation. This time last year people were asked for their views on what type of equipment they would like to see. Based on the results, three designs have been developed, and now locals are invited to comment on which one they like best. Because this is common land, there are strict guidelines on the style and height of the equipment and it will need to be sympathetic to the local area.
One of the three options
People can view the options and take part in the consultation by visiting https://haveyoursay.citizenspace.com/wandsworthecs/chivalry-road-19 (live from Monday)
If you would like a paper copy of the consultation questionnaire email firstname.lastname@example.org or contact the parks office on (020) 3959 0060.
The consultation will close on Sunday, March 10.
*The improvements are being funded by the Wandworth Local Fund (WLF) – a charge the council puts on some developments to pay for the community infrastructure needed to support growth in the borough. Residents are encouraged to bring ideas for neighbourhood improvements to their ward councillors to be considered for funding, which must meet the criteria based on priorities set by local people.
