Don’t miss your chance to comment on the Local Plan

Published: Wednesday 16th January 19

Wandsworth residents and businesses are reminded that the Local Plan Review consultation concludes on February 6.

This first round of consultation is on the Issues Document - a ‘high level’ document looking at broad planning issues such as how many new homes will be needed, open space requirements, how to support  town centres to reach their potential, the needs of local businesses, how planning can encourage health and wellbeing and how to minimise air pollution. The council is seeking your views on these high level and other planning issues.

At the same time, the council is issuing a Call for Sites, an invitation to all individuals, developers, landowners, agents and other interested parties to submit details of sites within the borough that may be available for redevelopment over the lifetime of the Plan.

Find out more and comment on the Local Plan Full Review, Call for Sites and other consultations.

Cabinet member for strategic planning Cllr Jonathan Cook said  “I would encourage local people to have their say on the full review of the local plan. This is your chance to get involved in creating Wandsworth’s future planning framework.”

No! no! no! - the more homes we build the better (preferably real homes, not rabbit hutches). Of course we then have to build more schools and more/better roads to accommodate everyone but that also leads to more prosperity for everyone (and more hospitals - but that under the present system is seen as more cost instead of more investment - pity!)

New homes in Wandsworth are the last thing we need. Roads are congested - schools overpopulated. Stop building - it will only encourage more to come live off us.
