If there have been no changes in circumstances and the existing details on the form are complete and correct, the process can even be carried out over the phone or by text message.
Completing the form is a legal requirement so responding by phone, text or via the internet is strongly recommended as it helps save taxpayers’ money.
Residents who do not respond are likely to be visited by council electoral staff – so responding promptly will avoid the inconvenience this could pose to local people and the drain it represents to the public purse.
