Still time to sign up for Brighter Living Fair

Published: Thursday 14th June 18

There's still time to book your place at July’s Brighter Living Fair to help people live full and independent lives.

Wandsworth’s Adult Social Services department is holding the free event for the first time on July 3. It’s open to people with care and support needs and other Wandsworth residents aged over 55.

The day-long event in the Wandsworth Civic Suite will have more than 30 stalls to browse and visitors  can try out a number of activities, such as fitness, movement and  art classes, find out about keeping safe, and take part in digital demonstrations.

Brighter Living 2018 also offers residents and carers the chance to get information and advice, as well as the opportunity to talk to different people and organisations in the borough.

Attendees that pre-book their place will be able to register for a free lunch on a first come first serve basis. You will also be able to enjoy refreshments at the all-day café, free of charge.

Cllr Paul Ellis, the council’s health and adult social care spokesman, said, “We know that most people are keen to stay healthy and independent for as long as possible, and we want provide services and support that help them do just that. The Brighter Living Fair will signpost residents to the help we offer, and support given by other organisations in the borough.”
