Get active this summer

The 9th annual Get Active Wandsworth Festival is back and this year will going on the road, popping-up at community events round the borough.

Entry is free for all the family and the day will be filled with activities, taster sessions, advice tents, mascot races, food and guest presenters to inspire residents to get active.

Upcoming events include:

Saturday June 16, Furzedown Big Day Out, Furzedown Recreation Ground

Saturday June 30, Falcon Road Festival, Shillington Gardens

Saturday September 1, Get Active Roehampton, Bull-ring

Al are free and no booking is required – just turn up

Activities include

  • Climbing wall, bouncy castle and children’s inflatables
  • Free child and adult health checks
  • Face painting
  • Sports club area with a huge range of sports to try for free!
  • Pure Yinks and Uncle Dee presenting live from the event
  • Dance performances
  • PAWS the friendly Active Wandsworth Panther Mascot
  • Goodies, offers and giveaways 

Activities vary between events, so check the website for details at what's on offer at your local event.

The council’s sport and leisure spokesman Cllr Steffi Stutters said: “The Get Active Wandsworth Festival has always been a really popular event, and this year we decided to visit different parts of the borough so that everyone can get involved. It’s free to take part and a good day out for all the family, so find an event near you and join in.”
