Congratulations to Royal couple

Published: Saturday 19th May 18

Wandsworth Council leader Ravi Govindia has offered his best wishes to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle on their wedding day.

With Royal wedding fever taking hold of the borough this weekend, a record number of street parties are marking the event with flags, bunting, music, food and drink the order of the day.

Councillor Govindia said: “On behalf of Wandsworth Council I would like wish Prince Harry and the new Duchess of Sussex every happiness for the future.

"I know there are lots of street parties planned across the borough and it is great to see so many people coming together to enjoy this wonderful occasion.”

The number of parties have been boosted following the council’s decision to waive all the normal costs involved in organising these type of neighbourhood get-togethers.

Councillor Govindia added: “The sun is shining and this is a very happy event so I hope everyone really enjoys themselves. “
