Wandsworth businesses urged to speak their mind

Published: Thursday 1st March 18

New and existing businesses in Wandsworth are being given a chance to help shape future support offered by the council.

The council’s Economic Development Office is conducting two surveys. Existing businesses are invited to share views on their plans for investment, recruitment, meeting the challenges of Brexit and their overall business confidence.

Those starting up a business are also being asked about the challenges they face and what support they require in the early stages of business development. This online survey will help the council better understand how they work so it can tailor its support to best meet their needs.

Wandsworth business spokesman Cllr Kim Caddy said: “We know this is a challenging time for businesses, especially with the challenges posed by Brexit, so we want to find out what businesses need from us so we can make the borough an even better place to start and grow a business.

“We already have a comprehensive package of support, including tailored help for the digital and food sectors and the Supply Nine Elms programme which helps local firms make the most of the lucrative new markets opening up because of regeneration. We also have Wandsworth Enterprise Week coming up with loads of advice and help. This helped make Wandsworth the best London borough for Small Business in 2017 according to the Federation of Small Businesses

“By telling us about your future plans and your concerns for the future, you will give us a better idea about your overall confidence and plans for recruitment and growth. The survey will take about 15 minutes to complete and will enable us to make sure we’re doing all we can - both to support our crucially important existing business sector and to help local entrepreneurs start up new companies that will contribute to the local economy and employ local people.”

Established businesses are being surveyed by telephone. To ensure you receive a call, please email the company conducting the survey at kyna@facts.uk.com. You can also complete the survey online

A separate online survey for start-ups, and people thinking about starting up a business, can be accessed via www.wandsworth.gov.uk/business

Businesses and entrepreneurs attending the upcoming Wandsworth Enterprise Week will also be invited to complete the surveys. Find out more about the week’s packed programme of business support events here

Thanks for that, l have meet so many people from different background, clients with and without money to invest, and they are all welcome as l can refer them to appropriate section that can also help, so l have put my clients first most of the time before profit, and got to meet more clients through referrals by offering them the help they need, also l have refered some clients to other agents. So from my experience l have learn that businesses need each other, even though they can be competitors but more than that, they can also be a team to help the clients to get their desired home. So l always work with the estate agents of my local reach and beyond.
