Festive town centre events this weekend

Shoppers browsing for bargains can enjoy a weekend of town centre Christmas markets, light ceremonies and events.

Meet Me By The Balloons

Some of the events coincide with Small Business Saturday, making the borough's town centres the place to be this weekend.

The Balham event is on Sunday (Dec 3) and will feature Sam the Donkey, entertainment and market stalls at Bedford Hill Place and Hildreth Street from 1pm. The lights will be turned on at 4.30pm. Visit balham.com.

The Earlsfield event is on Friday (Dec 1) in Wayneflete Street and St Andrew’s Church, with Santa’s grotto, a choir, stalls and a light ceremony at 5.30pm. Follow @EBN004

In Nine Elms the Winter Trails Festival continues. Friday (Dec 1) sees the launch of Meet Me ByThe Balloons - a trail of LED balloons highlighting the path along the river – and on Saturday there will be a full day of parkour workshops. Find out more at www.nineelmslondon.com/wintertrails.

Christmas comes to Tooting this weekend with Tootsmas running from Friday 1 to Dec 3. There will be a street food takeover, Christmas arts and crafts, a festive pooch parade and a foodie trail.
