Family activities this half term

Next week is half term, and families can enjoy a range of playschemes and family across the borough.

The council runs affordable holiday playschemes at Christchurch Primary School in Clapham Junction and Smallwood Primary School, Tooting. Prices start at £10 for a half day and £20 for a full day. Book online at

The borough’s extensive network of children’s centres and youth clubs will also be holding special half term activities, including a free yoga class for 11-19 year olds at Roehampton Youth Club.

Activities in the boroughs libraries include story times, crafts and games.

The BAC is bringing its Timekeepers workshop to Tooting Library

In Wandsworth the Kimber Road Skate and BMX Park will be open from noon to 6pm throughout half term. Entry is free but under 8s must be accompanied by an adult. There will also be a skate camp running through half term. To find out more call 07827 906310.

The Putney School of Art and Design is running half term family courses including Family Learning and a Kids’ Art Club, and there will be a half term programme of activities at Battersea Sports Centre.

The Wandsworth Lifelong Learning Team is running a Family Learning Festival, with many activities for parents and children to do together during half term, including arts, music, smoothie making and more.

Battersea Power Station has am extensive programme of half term events, including a performance project for young people, arts and crafts, yoga, pumpkin crafting and a halloween party urban running and cycling and the chance to build a model of Battersea Power Station out of lego. Find out more.

The BAC is holding its first-ever Making Routes Festival on October 29, including alien dressing-up, craft workshops, pop-up performances and live music. There will also be special activities all week at Battersea Park Zoo.

The council’s Disabled Children’s Register (DCR) team are also holding half term events for DCR members and WAND and WAND+ Cardholders including a free trips to Go Ape, a half price offer at Flip Out, and a chance to see Moana for free at Cineworld. Find out more.
