Don’t miss your chance to nominate an unsung local hero
Published: Friday 29th September 17
Time is running out to nominate unsung community heroes for a Wandsworth Civic Award. The deadline for nominations is October 17.
Last year's winners with the previous Mayor of Wandsworth, Cllr Richard Field
The Civic Awards are a way of saying thank you to local people who have volunteered their services over a long period of time to help others
They shine the spotlight on people who are the backbone of local communities, including charity workers, people who run local clubs or groups or just someone who acts as a helping hand to friends or neighbours - anyone whose tireless work has made a difference to the area.
Last year’s winners included Sid Khan from the Earlsfield Boxing Club, Sheila Hill for her contribution to local history and heritage, Shakeel Ahmed Syed, who has supported numerous causes in Tooting, and the Wandsworth Parent Champions who raise awareness of support available to families with disabled children.
