Get ready to party in Tooting as the community gets together for a summer of fun.

The Tour de Tooting returns with The Tooting Twirl on July 16. There will be a pop-up village green on the bus turning circle between Greggs and Primark from midday until 4pm, featuring fancy dress, street games, a picnic and more.

Tooting Twirl has been organised by Transition Town Tooting, with support from the council. Find out more, including how to contribute to the crowdfunding campaign at   http://transitiontowntooting.blogspot.co.uk/

Then on July 23 go along to the Tooting Summer Street Party in Cowick Road from noon to 5.30pm, featuring live music, a wide range of food and drink and children’s entertainment

Wandsworth Radio will be broadcasting the event live, the Havana Londres Rueda group will be salsa-ing and children will be able to hula hoop on the street, which will be closed to traffic. The party has been organised by the council, with support from local traders.

The council’s culture spokesman Cllr Jonathan Cook said: “These events are a fantastic opportunity for the community to come together and enjoy their town. Come along, get to know your neighbours and celebrate Tooting.”

All are welcome to the free events – just turn up.

Hi, I run a food stall selling grilled sausages and a freshly made Hungarian fried bread. I'm wondering if you have a pitch available at Tooting Summer Street Party and how much it would cost? Thanks, Andreas www.budapest-bangers.co.uk
