Volunteers needed for Get Active Wandsworth Festival

Published: Monday 15th May 17

Wandsworth Council’s Get Active Wandsworth Festival returns this year and the organisers are looking for volunteers to help inspire people to get active.

The borough’s biggest Sport and Physical Activity Festival takes place on Saturday 15 July at King George’s Park, Wandsworth. The free, family event attracts 10,000 people a year to try new activities, learn about their health and be entertained by local groups.

There are a wide variety of voluntary roles on offer that include set up and set down of the festival equipment, greeting all visitors and informing them of the available activities on offer.

As a volunteer at the Get Active Wandsworth Festival you will be given the opportunity to gain new skills, meet new people, and make a difference

The free event showcases some of the best that the borough has to offer in sport, physical activity and health and is part of the council’s wider efforts to inspire local people to get up and start moving. It will feature live performances, sports activities, health and nutrition advice, children’s entertainment, free NHS health checks, inflatables, craft and food stalls.

To volunteer, contact Peter Freeman or Chris Austin on 0208 871 8154 or email active@enablelc.org

The Get Active Wandsworth Festival is managed and delivered by Enable Leisure and Culture on behalf of Wandsworth Council.
