Get on board the digital business bus

Published: Thursday 23rd March 17

Wandsworth small businesses are invited to visit the Do It Digital roadshow next week to develop their online skills.

The Do It Digital bus is coming to Clapham Junction

The Do It Digital bus is coming to Clapham Junction on March 31. This is the only London stop in its nationwide digital roadshow.

Small businesses can attend free workshops on social media strategy, email marketing and customer loyalty. The aim is to teach local firms essential skills to build their presence and impact online, including everything from creating their first website to selling online.

During the visit three local businesses will be chosen to receive a digital makeover with web, social media and digital strategy experts giving them one to one advice and guidance on board the bus.

Do It Digital is a not-for-profit campaign that aims to help small, independent businesses around the UK make the most of the advantages of being online.

Wandsworth Digitech, commissioned by the council to provide ongoing support including networking events and workshops to the borough’s burgeoning tech sector, will also be there on the day.

Do It Digital Director, Michelle Ovens said “Digital engagement is crucial for all aspects of business, from marketing and recruitment to banking and accounting, and is only likely to become more so. Digital engagement will become increasingly central to the development of competitive, profitable and growing businesses.”

The council’s business spokesman Cllr Kim Caddy said: “We’re delighted that the Do It Digital bus has chosen one of the Capital’s most business-friendly boroughs for it’s only London stop. We hope that businesses take advantage of this free help so that the borough’s fast-expanding digital and technical sector can continue to thrive.”

The bus will be in the Asda car park, Lavender Hill, Clapham Junction, between noon and 3pm. It’s free, but businesses must book their place on the various workshops in advance.
