Swaffield Knight School is dubbed the best

Published: Thursday 30th June 16

Swaffield School has received a special award for its Knight School programme.

Swaffield has been running Knight School since 2008 – and believes it is the only one in London teaching the programme. It is based on the Knights’ Code of Conduct and Chivalry and it aims to raise children’s confidence and self-esteem as well as promoting pride, courtesy, and respect.

The award is the first of its kind and was presented by Caroline Aston and Barbara Keene from The Knight School Foundation, which was founded by former policeman Gary Brown MBE.

A special award assembly was attended by Sir Richard Stilgoe, who was knighted in 2012 for his charity work. He told the children was it is like to really be knighted.

Caroline Aston of The Knight School Foundation said: “If we lost the original blueprint for Knight School all we’d have to do is go to Swaffield School because it’s there, it’s alive and they’re simply the best."
