Students at Southfields Academy have taken part in a passing out parade after successfully completing a practical unit in drill as part of the Uniformed Services Course.
The parade was held at Royal Marines Barracks Wandsworth. A team of Royal Marines Commissioned Officers, Sergeant Major Jimmy Clutton, Sergeant Simon Stroud and Sergeant Kris Foster, have also assisted in map reading, team building and a 24 hour exercise.
Principal Jacqueline Valin said: “The values of the Royal Marines exactly match our values as an Academy and for the participants this course has emphasised a sense of belonging and working together as a team. It has given them a great sense of pride in what they have achieved and deservedly so.
“The Academy is looking forward to running this course again, and building upon the relationship that it has with its neighbours at the Royal Marine London Barracks.”
