Train as a football coach with QPR

Young people in Wandsworth are being offered the chance to get a football coaching qualification in a free course being offered by Queen’s Park Rangers FC.
The top west London club is working with the Prince’s Trust charity and 4Children, which provides youth services in the borough on behalf of Wandsworth Council.
The one-week course is targeted at young people aged 16-19 (or disabled young people aged 16-25) who live in the borough of Wandsworth and are not currently in employment, education and training.
Gain an FA Level 1 coaching qualification
Gain emergency first aid and safeguarding qualifications
Get the opportunity to work with Queens Park Rangers Football Club
Meet new people and improve communication and teamwork skills
Have access to ‘Get Hired’ employability days with live vacancies, apprenticeships and other opportunities.
Receive up to three months progression support with The Prince’s Trust to help find further work or training.
The council’s spokesman for education and young people, Cllr Kathy Tracey, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for our young people to train with a top football team and gain experience and qualifications that will help them make their way in the world of work.”

We are extremely pleased to facilitate the Get Started with Football programme. It has been a massive success for young people in the past and we feel this course can carry on that trend”.
The programme will be based at the Training and Resource Centre, Alma Road, Wandsworth. Transport costs and lunch will be provided.
