It’s a chance to meet local employers, colleges and training providers and to take the first step towards a new career.
There will also be specialist career advice and training workshops on how to succeed with job applications and interviews.
Council leader Ravi Govindia said:
“If you’re struggling to find work this event is a golden opportunity. We will bring more than 20 local employers together under one roof along with the council’s Work Match team who are dedicated to helping unemployed Wandsworth residents find work.
“Thanks to some major investment projects Wandsworth now has one of the fastest growing economies in London. Thousands of jobs are being created here and the Work Match scheme is one of the ways we’re ensuring local residents can secure these new opportunities.
“We’ve reserved many of the vital starter roles, like traineeships and apprenticeships, for local people so they can apply before anyone else in London. If you’re unemployed then come along to our jobs fair and we’ll help you share in Wandsworth’s growth.”
The fair will bring together employers, training providers, community organisations, business support providers and council services.
To sign up for free workshops on CV preparation, effective interview skills or apprenticeships visit www.wandsworth.gov.uk/workmatch. Places are limited so book early to avoid disappointment.
