Come and meet council leader

Come along to meet the leader and chat about local issues and concerns at our next Let’s Talk session on August 5.

Councillor Ravi GovindiaCouncil leader Ravi Govindia will be at Konnigans restaurant in Old York Road, Wandsworth and is inviting Wandsworth residents to join him. There's no need to book your place - just turn up.

Let's Talk is a new series of events that will be held at various venues across the borough. Cllr Govindia is keen to hear what local people think about council services, including street cleaning, parking, schools and housing, and what else the council should be doing to meet local needs.

The events are part of the Wandsworth Challenge - a new approach to providing better public services at a time of tough financial pressures. Key to the Challenge is more involvement from the community and better engagement with local people.

When: August 5

Time: 10am to 11am.

Why would you bother? Its just the same old cuts, cuts cuts. Mr Govindia will carry on with relish the savage cuts that Mr Lister presided over.

I think this is a fabulous idea. However, the time is a problem for anyone who works. I hope this has been taken into consideration for some of the other sessions and that there will be some in the evenings and some on weekends so that everyone has the opportunity to attend and meet the new Leader. Would be great to see a timetable so people can schedule these meetings into their busy lives
