Don’t forget to vote today

Published: Thursday 30th June 11

Polling stations across the Thamesfield ward are open until 10pm tonight to enable voters to cast their votes in today's by-election.

Voters are being reminded that they do not need their polling cards to cast their ballots. If your name is on the electoral register but you do not have a polling card you can still attend your polling station and vote by giving your name and address.

If residents are unsure about which polling station to use they can find out by visiting the electoral services' pages on the council's website and keying in their full postcode -

Alternatively people can find out which polling station to use by calling (020) 8871 6023. This number can also be used to check whether your name appears on the electoral register.

The polling station locations are:

  • All Saints Church, Putney Common
  • The Platt Christian Centre, 22 Felsham Road, near Kingsmere Close
  • Putney Library, Disraeli Road
  • Brandlehow Nursery School, entrance from Skelgill Road, junction with Fawe Park Road

Those residents who were sent a postal vote and have not yet returned it by post can deliver it to any of the four polling stations, or return it to the town hall by 10pm today. If the postal votes are not received before 10pm they will not be counted.

The counting of votes will take place from 10pm tonight (Thursday) and the result is expected to published on the council's website at around 11.30pm.
