Design a Dish for the Balham Food Festival

Lamberts restaurant in Balham is inviting local residents to "Design a Dish" for the Balham Food Festival.

Balham chefsResidents are invited to submit their own creation for a starter, main or dessert (which must be seasonal and British) by next Friday (July 1).

Lamberts will then choose their favourite to feature on their Balham Food Festival Menu, which will run from 10th-24th July. The winner will also receive a free meal for two at Lamberts. 

The Balham Food Festival will run from the 10th to 24th July to showcase the amazing range of restaurants, cafes, bars, pubs, delicatessens and gourmet food retailers in Balham town centre. 

A variety of special events will take place throughout the fortnight including free cocktail classes, several wine tasting events, a food quiz, children's cookery school, Balham's Big Roast and Caribbean cookery classes.  

On Sunday 10th July from 12noon to 5pm many of your favourite Balham foodie businesses will be taking stalls in Hildreth Street for The Big Launch, a Taste of Balham style event with international cuisine, refreshments, live music and children's entertainment. 

Throughout the festival fortnight there will also be special offers and selected Balham restaurants will be running their own exclusive festival menus for the two weeks.

The Balham Food Festival is kindly being sponsored by Samuel Estates, Waitrose, Antic, the Balham Partnership, The Clarence, Southern Railway and Wandsworth Council.

The festival is being organised by Wandsworth Council and the Balham Partnership to promote Balham Town Centre as a great place to eat, drink, shop, relax, play and explore.

Festival brochures will be distributed to 16,000 residents and will also be available from Balham businesses, Balham Library, Balham Railway Station, Balham Leisure Centre and Wandsworth Town Hall.
