See Covent Garden market plans
Published: Thursday 24th February 11
A public exhibition of plans for the future of New Covent Garden Market will take place on March 3-5.
This is the third public exhibition held by the Covent Garden Market Authority (CGMA) to show local people details of its plans for the 57-acre site.
Proposals include new fresh produce and flower markets, homes and shops and a public building and covered space hosting a range of food and flower related activities, plus facilities including a post office, bank and cafes.
This latest exhibition will enable local people to see the updated plans which incorporate comments and suggestions made during previous consultations, including a greater proportion of open space.
There will also be details of CGMA's final pre-application consultation activities before it submits a planning application to the council later this year.
The exhibition will be open on March 3 and March 4 from 4pm to 8pm, and on March 5 from 10am to 5pm. Go to the Yvonne Carr Community Centre, 2 Thessaly Road.
Anyone unable to attend the exhibition can request a leaflet by calling 0800 977 8794 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. From March 3 more information will also be available at www.newcoventgardenmarket.com
